The providers of Millcreek Women's Center strive to provide the highest quality of care by first listening to each patient, appropriately evaluating symptoms and problems, then educating the patient and working with her through options in management to help her to make the best medical decision for herself. The providers believe strongly in prevention of medical problems through counseling and risk reduction.
In obstetrics, most patients have normal pregnancies. Modern obstetrics has greatly reduced the risk to mother and child. The providers will educate the patients to maximize their health throughout the pregnancy. Most labors progress normally without intervention; however, when there are problems, active management by an obstetrician can greatly impact outcomes. We will work with the pregnant patient, intervening only when medically indicated, to help achieve the best possible outcome. We encourage additional childbirth education classes as well as breastfeeding. St. Marks Hospital provides excellent childbirth classes. |
